While we take into account the effects of COVID-19 on our day-to-day lives, we believe that it’s our responsibility as healthcare providers to continue giving our patients the care and attention they need and deserve. This means being adaptable and taking every necessary step to protect everyone’s health and safety. That’s why we are now offering virtual TeleHealth appointments which allow our patients to connect with their doctors, face to face, from the comfort of their own homes.

What happens during a telehealth consultation?

During a consultation, we will go over your full medical history in detail, provide education, and create a personalized treatment plan. This can all be done either over the web, video-chat, or phone call. We prefer to speak with patients verbally so that we can better understand how they are feeling.

What can and can’t be done through a TeleHealth session?

TeleHealth appointments can be scheduled to follow up on previous procedures, review test results, and evaluate the patient’s progress. In video chat, we can observe you doing particular movements, but would not be able to give a full examination. Some diagnostic procedures, such as hip tests, muscle palpations, and close physical examination, would require an in-person appointment. This also applies to any internal examination. Subsequent procedures that are offered during a consult are also not possible through a video session.

Are new patients being accepted for telemedicine appointments?

Yes, we are accepting new patients for initial consultations through TeleHealth video appointments.

Does insurance cover a TeleHealth appointment?

In most cases, especially given the current circumstances resulting from COVID-19, insurance will likely cover virtual appointments the same way as regular doctor visits. Find out whether you’re covered by contacting your provider.

What do I need to conduct a telemedicine appointment?

All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with internet access and audio/video capability. Sessions can be done through live video or over the phone if you prefer.
