If you’re reading reviews, like I was just four months ago, looking for confirmation that Dr. Liu is the doctor you should go with – look no further. Her existing reviews speak for themselves, but let me further assure you as a patient who was desperate for relief, frustrated by the healthcare system and eager for a kind doctor who would believe and partner with me. I went in for surgery without knowing if I had endometriosis – imaging failed to show anything and doctors dismissed me for 17 years – and Dr. Liu removed all of my Stage 4 endometriosis.

Two key call-outs:

-Time: Dr. Liu got me into her office within a week for initial consult. From there, I had only one additional imaging needed before surgery – which I booked for the next week because of my own schedule. Once I adamantly agreed to surgery, given the severity of my symptoms, Dr. Liu wanted to get me into surgery ASAP, like a week or two out. Due to needing some specialty surgeons on standby, my surgery was booked for as soon as all were available which was 6 weeks from my initial consult. Dr. Liu’s appreciation for how debilitating my symptoms were and her/her staff’s associated sense of urgency was honestly inspiring. I never felt rushed, I never felt pressured. But when Dr. Liu knew I was all-in, she made it happen and kept me informed at every turn. I truly felt like I had a dedicated partner in finally getting some answers, and hopefully, some relief.

-Demeanor: I don’t always need the doctor with the most amazing bedside manner as long as I feel they’re taking care of my medical needs. However, with this many unknowns and dead-ends after years of incredible pain, I knew I needed a doctor who I trusted wholeheartedly to treat me, and I also needed a doctor who I felt comfortable, safe and supported by. After so many years of being dismissed by so many doctors, my pain began to feel like it was all in my head. Dr. Liu listened and she believed me – full stop. She gave me the space to make the decisions I was comfortable with while providing me with guidance and education. Dr. Liu was accessible, patient, thorough and truly kind. I emailed her with some of the smallest, silliest questions in my weeks recovering. She answered every single one promptly and without judgment.

I feel like I have been given a second life, and I’m so grateful for the team that brought me to it. Dr. Liu partnered with Dr. Larish (also the absolute best out there) as well as my own existing PCP to personalize my care and ensure my smooth recovery. The work that Dr. Liu does is truly top-tier and changes lives forever, but it’s really HOW she goes about it that distinguishes her and her team.

By the time I met Dr. Liu, I was in so much discomfort and pain that it was all I could do to get through my day. Having had endometriosis surgery about 10 years ago, I suspected that maybe it had returned and that’s what was causing all of my pain. I could not find someone to help me, and then my husband found Dr. Liu’s website. The best thing I ever did was call Dr. Liu’s office that day. During my first appointment with her, she listened to my history with endometriosis and my current awful pain and discomfort. She then agreed to do surgery, focusing on the fact that the endometriosis had either come back or not been fully cleared out the first time around. She was very kind, and sympathetic, and after meeting with her that day, I felt confident deciding to let her do surgery. I met with her the morning of the surgery in the hospital, and I once again felt that she was going to do everything she could to rectify the problems that I had. I am happy to say that 2 months after my surgery it is like night and day for me now. I have no pain, or discomfort. She did find many lesions of endometriosis and she got rid of all of them! After 2 years of suffering with this pain, I am fine and I no longer have any pain or discomfort since the surgery was completed. Dr. Liu has also stayed in touch with me since the surgery to make sure that I am doing well. I am very grateful to her for all that she has done to help me.

Dr. Liu is truly the best doctor I have ever had. From the moment I met her I knew I was in good hands. I have been dismissed by so many doctors and was starting to lose hope with my declining health. I traveled 4 hours to see Dr. Liu after finding her on Nancy’s Nook. I had a lot of anxiety for my appointment but felt comfortable and calm the second Dr. Liu came in the room. You can tell she really cares about and listens to her patients. She never rushes you and always asks if you have any questions. I had excision surgery with Dr. Liu in May. Not only is she an incredibly skilled surgeon but she has outstanding bedside manner. It’s the little things she does that make such a difference. From always including my husband in conversation/plan of care, allowing ample opportunity to ask questions, and holding my hand in the OR until I was asleep. When my surgery took longer than anticipated she kept my husband updated throughout my surgery. I needed to stay in the hospital for almost a week and Dr. Liu visited me every morning or if she was in NYC that day she would make the time to call me. She has followed up multiple times since my surgery to check on my recovery. I am so grateful for Dr. Liu and the exceptional care she has provided me. She goes so above and beyond for her patients. Because of her, I now have my quality of life back. I am forever grateful for her. Thank you Dr. Liu!

Dr Lora Liu is simply the best! She was kind and thorough throughout the whole experience. She made me feel very comfortable about asking questions and she was very knowledgeable. She checked in on me regularly post surgery and made me feel like there was support if I needed it. She did a fantastic job. After 6 weeks my scars are healing really well, my endometriosis pain is considerably less and I am able to exercise and do all normal activities. I am so grateful for the day I decided to call Dr. Liu. This surgery was life changing and I am so glad I chose Dr Liu as my surgeon.

This doctor saves my life after 10 years of suffering with pain. I cannot express how thankful I am for her services and professionalism.
I highly recommend DR. Lui for whoever suffers from endom

This lady saved my life after seeing so many other doctors previously with no result. She took the time to explain everything her research the process and was great even after my surgical procedure. I have never meet a more attentive doctor, she followed up with me every single after my surgery to make sure I was doing good. I’m just happy to be pains free after 10 years of no results with other doctors.

Dr. Liu is incredible! She’s a great surgeon who is also kind and attentive with her patients. She eased all of my specific surgical anxieties before going under and was super attentive post-op.

Thank you!!! Dr.Liu helped me when no one else would. I had almost lost hope that anyone would understand what I was going through. After one visit, she saw all the red flags I was worried about and was ready to take action. She helped me come up with a plan that worked for me, and really helped take away my fears. She armed me with knowledge and helped empower me to put myself first. I came from out of state because she was such a highly recommended specialist, and I am so glad I did. If you have any reservations, just make one appointment with her, and you won’t be disappointed.

She helped me to review the facts and I felt more informed about my condition. I walked out of her office with more options for solutions.

I have suffered from horrible and debilitating period pains for years on end, and like most women, every doctor I went to was extremely dismissive and did not take my concerns seriously. I have been to dozens of medical professionals over the course of the past 5 or so years and Dr. Lora Liu was the only one who is not only extremely empathetic, but was willing to help me in surgically diagnosing and removing my endometriosis. I also had two extremely large ovarian cysts that were causing me to be hospitalized every month. Dr Liu and her team were so kind to me and effectively communicated everything I needed to know prior to the surgery. It has been almost two months and my quality of life has increased dramatically. I never thought that I would get to live without being sick constantly, but thanks to Dr. Liu I am able to live anxiety free now. If you are a woman who suffers with similar issues, do not hesitate to call Dr. Liu for a consultation! I traveled from four states just to see her!

Dr. Lora Liu was the answer to a prayer. Four years of immeasurable suffering took over my life before I found her. Before I found her no fewer than four doctors had concurred with a diagnosis of IBS. After feeling at the end of my rope, I began to suspect a gynelogical issue. Although I initially found a surgeon who recommended diagnostic laparoscopy, I became uncomfortable with my choice. Finding Dr. Liu made my choice clear. She not only listens first, she listens hard. Her empathy comes from seeing how she can help, and it is clear that this is what is driving the work and the work of her incredible team.
She lays out her knowledge in a way that neither overwhelms nor under-prepares her patient – she has a balance to her process that instills justifiable confidence.
Prior to my surgery, I knew exactly what to expect and I did so with a sense of calm in a time that had been chaotic and frightening. I came to Dr. Liu a broken patient who had faced years of gaslighting and having spent thousands of dollars on treatments (both covered and not covered). I was physically, mentally, emotionally exhausted. I had lost my trust in medicine and it’s ability to heal. All that changed with Dr. Liu. In the field of specialized gynecology, Dr. Liu distinguishes herself with a commitment to her patients and their success that is beyond rare. I am almost 3 months post-surgery and I have my life back. Finally! The debilitating symptoms I had have dramatically improved and the removal of fibroids that other doctors inaccurately described as “nothing to worry about” have been a game-changer. Dr. Liu hits a level of superior care that is hard to find in today’s assembly line style of medicine. She is always accessible, never judges but instead gently educated and she is the biggest reason why I know I’m smiling again today.

Dr. Liu has helped me so much in the short time that I have met her. My original surgery was for cyst removal and was supposed to be 1-2 hrs but ended up being a little over 5 hrs because my insides were a mess. Dr. Liu got rid of my cyst, scar tissue and endometriosis which I never knew I had after years of doctors putting of my symptoms. She checked up on me frequently and was so very compassionate and caring. Surgery in itself is very hard but because I had a previous surgery 2 months prior done by another surgeon, my recovery has been a bit slow but Dr.Liu always reminds me to be patient with my body and I appreciate that reminder so much. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Liu.

Brilliant! Approachable! Thoughtful! Considerate! Kind! Precise! Happy! Smart! There are so many words to describe Dr. Liu. I was referred to her to help surgically treat my fibroids. From the moment Dr. Liu entered the treatment room I felt immediate calm and peace. She is a great listener while also being so down to earth. You are not just a patient to scratch off her schedule for the day she is invested, dialed in and focused when working with you.

Dr. Liu was very thorough as she described my surgical options, next steps and what to anticipate. This ensured that I was very confident and clear in regards to what to expect. Even when things needed to change in regards to my procedure she explained why in detail and empowered me to make the decision.

My surgery went very smoothly and my recovery was well within expectations. This is because of the amazing job she and her team did on my procedure. I shared a photo of me smiling while in the hospital for a reason. I was able to smile, find joy despite what I went through because of the amazing care her team ensured I had. The surgery was done with utmost precision and I was treated very much as a person not just a patient every step of the way. What really blew me away was that when I was in recovery Dr. Liu checked in on me daily either calling or emailing. She didn’t just forget about me she stayed connected, ensured that even virtually I felt her bedside manner and she answered all the crazy patient questions quickly and complimented by lighthearted photos I sent to share my progress.

I have friends who were treated by other doctors and when I share my experience with Dr. Liu they share their disappointment and all say I wish I had her because she truly gives one of kind patient care. I want to also share that the team that supports her at pelvic rehabilitation medicine are so professional and match Dr. Liu’s approach to her patients. They are thoughtful, patient, through and respond to any need or inquiry in a timely fashion. In NYC there are so many options for doctors, surgeons and OB GYNs but not everyone offers you the very best care and not just because it’s expected but because they refuse to give anything less because that’s who they are as a person and that is absolutely Dr. Lora Liu.

I am finally fibroid free after years of suffering. I am finally truly living life. I am pain free. I am a better me. I am immensely grateful to her and her team. I hope you consider her for your care and I’m confident that if you do one day you too will be here writing a raving review.

Dr. Liu met with me after I had several sessions and went through a few protocols with Dr. Vyas. We discussed the possibility of endometriosis. She was with me every step of the way between getting imaging done, pre-op questions and post-op care. She removed my endo and I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. She really helped me give my life back!!

I had surgery with Dr. Liu in January of 2022 and she was an incredible provider. She is an expert in endometriosis care. Undergoing excision surgery with Dr. Liu changed my life and granted me the freedom to go about my day-to-day. Dr. Liu checked in with me multiple times prior to and following surgery, and was the most attentive medical provider I have ever had. If you are looking for endometriosis care I highly recommend Dr. Liu.

My experience being treated by Dr. Liu has been validating, positive, and hopeful.

After years of being dismissed by previous general gyns regarding my pain, I sought out Dr. Liu for a consultation. I was relieved to find out that her office does not require a referral, which is important when trying to advocate for yourself. I was able to get a consultation quickly and Dr. Liu spent a considerable amount of time listening to my past medical history, answering questions, and responding to my concerns. She was the first provider to ever say to me “I believe you.” She is extremely knowledgeable about endometriosis and these are the cases she handles everyday.

Although I had no previous scans or diagnoses, we decided to move forward with surgery. Her surgical coordinator Janisie was wonderful to work with and got my surgery scheduled for a few weeks out. I had my procedure at Hoboken University Medical Center where the staff provided great care and made the process easier while I was extremely anxious. My surgery was performed with Dr. Liu and Urologist Dr. Larish who was also very considerate and assured me we would go the route I was most comfortable with.

Surgery went smoothly and I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometriosis after 12 years, and it was excised (gold standard). Recovery was exactly what Dr. Liu prepared me for. She called me for 3 days after and even checked on me after a week. I also received the operative & pathology reports within a week. I have never experienced this level of care and compassion and it made the process easier for me. She is very responsive and replied to all my email questions post-op. I’m so grateful for Dr. Liu and can’t recommend her enough. She is very skilled and thorough. If you want a true expert, who will believe you, and deliver the best care, contact Dr. Liu!

Had a very positive surgery experience (laparoscopic robotic excision of endometriosis) and vast improvement in my pain and functioning since my surgery on 1/4/21. My daily pain is gone and my quality of life has made huge improvements. Dr. Liu removed 24 lesions and removed my bowel from my pelvic wall in 3 places, from my bladder, and in other areas of my pelvis. I know other people have had similar amounts and dense adhesions and their surgeons could not remove them all or burned them versus excised them. I also have hEDS which is a collagen disorder that puts you at greater risk of bleeding and scarring after surgery and Dr. Liu was familiar with the condition (actually, the reason I was diagnosed was my pelvic physiatrist at PRM said she suspected I had it) and I have not had any complications or scar tissue pain.
I have since moved to Alabama and miss the team at PRM because I feel like I really benefitted from the pelvic physiatry and cognitive therapy I received from others on the team. If I need surgery again (which hopefully will be in at least 5 years), I would greatly consider flying back up to have her perform the surgery again. It’s really hard to trust someone when there are so many unknowns and misinformation about endometriosis.

Dr. Liu was a wonderful surgeon who made sure I knew exactly what to do throughout the entire process. She had comprehensive directions for how to prepare for the surgery as well as what to do after. I also appreciated that she called in to check on me after the surgery and was very supportive throughout the whole process.

My experience having surgery with Dr. Liu was wonderful from start to finish. Dr. Liu is a caring and expert practitioner. I never felt rushed and she listened carefully and empathetically to me and answered all my questions fully. Even after an intake and a preop appointment, she met with me in the hospital right before the surgery to review the plan and patiently answer any final questions.

I had the same surgery with another surgeon last year and the experience was like night and day. Dr. Liu took her time and was extremely thorough with a relatively complex endometriosis excision surgery. Her expertise and skill are unrivaled, and I feel like she’s given me my life back after many tough years battling this disease.

After the surgery she called my husband and gave him a full report while I was in recovery, and then called me every day after to see how I was doing, adjust my postop plan as needed, and answer questions I had about what she did. She even responded to emails quickly any day of the week. This is not one of those surgeons that’s going to move on the minute you wake up from anesthesia. Dr. Liu is 100% on your team, every step of the way.

The office was also great. Very transparent with billing, and they handle everything with insurance. Scheduling was easy and convenient. Preop and postop instructions were clear and communicated well.

Dr. Liu is one of the most respectful, knowledgeable and kindest doctors I’ve ever met. From the very beginning, she was very patient with me. She also listened carefully to all my concerns before giving me her honest opinion about my condition and explaining what my options were.

I was a bit scared about having to schedule and prepare for surgery, but it was the easiest part of this journey thanks to her surgery coordinator Janisie. She was always pleasant, patient and willing to help. The staff at Jersey Medical Center was also amazing. This was my first time being admitted to a hospital and they all made me feel at ease. The urologist, Dr. Larish, made me laugh as soon as he introduced himself and I knew right away that I was in good hands.

Prior to this surgery, I had been living with crippling pain for 20 years and had seen many doctors, who made me believe I just had a low pain threshold, but when Dr. Liu told me how bad my endo had been, I realized just how important it is to find a skillful specialist and surgeon. Dr. Liu will even go out of her way to call you everyday after your surgery to check how you’re doing and will answer really quickly if you have any questions or complications.

I truly cannot recommend Dr. Liu enough. I owe so much to her and I will never be able to repay her and her team for everything they’ve done for me.

Update: It’s been almost 2 months since my surgery and my scars have healed nicely, my symptoms have all gone away and I feel like I was reborn. Even my primary doctor has had nothing but praise for Dr. Liu and her team after seeing how well I am doing. Something you don’t realize when you’ve lived most of your life dealing with endometriosis is that you normalize your pain because it is all you’ve ever known, but now I can genuinely tell I am healthy and completely pain free.

If you’re looking for a doctor who truly cares about her patients and can offer you the best treatment for your gynecological condition, especially endometriosis, then please go see Dr. Liu.

Dr. Lora Liu was able to help me with removing Endometriosis, she did an excellent job and I was treated with compassion and understanding every step of the way. I felt that she really went out of the way of a typical doctor with her care, she checked on me via email or phone every day after surgery and made sure I had everything that I needed to ensure a successful procedure and recovery.

Dr, Liu never rushes her patients, she always answered my questions no matter what they were. She was patient and kind. she made me feel understood and validated. She really put my mind to ease before and after having my surgery

Dr Liu is amazing! My surgery was a breeze, barely any pain and walking and active to fight the gas. Her bedside manner is top notch, don’t hesitate to book with Dr Liu! I choose Dr Liu from her other peers because I didn’t want a man . I wanted a woman who actual experiences periods to help me and better understand me. Jersey City Medical team was also AMAZING! Being my first surgery I was very scared but they made my experience so lovely.

Dr. Liu has been an absolute life saver! I had been suffering from a wide array of painful symptoms over the years and with multiple trips to the ER, I had felt extremely dismissed by doctors and the medical community, until I met Dr. Liu. Even though I did not display some of the “classic” symptoms of endometriosis, Dr. Liu was 95% positive that I had endo. I knew very little about endometriosis and was skeptical that they would find anything significant during my laparoscopic surgery. I was accustomed to having doctors not being able to diagnose me for my perplexing symptoms, so why would this time be any different? I was floored to learn of Dr. Liu’s findings after she completed my surgery: I had stage IV endometriosis, the most advanced and aggressive stage of the disease. She found it everywhere in my pelvic cavity: on my uterus, ovaries, colon, rectum, cervix, etc. It had even invaded my urinary system and was found on my bladder and ureters. She also discovered that I had acute appendicitis from endometriosis, as well. No wonder I was living in SO much pain. It is still beyond me how no other doctor in my years of searching for answers, did not suggest or discover any of this. I am extremely lucky to have found Dr. Liu when I did because my appendix could have burst or I could have potentially lost an ovary or worse, even a kidney. For the first time in my life, I finally have proof of my symptoms. I feel validated and heard. Even though having a diagnosis such as endometriosis can be overwhelming, I feel more empowered than ever. Dr Liu helped give my life back. I continue to receive support from her and her assocates on my road to recovery. She is an extremely skilled surgeon and doctor – I would trust no one else to do this procedure. Thank you so much to Dr Liu!

PS. I should also mention, the Jersey City Medical Center was one of the best experiences I have ever had during a surgery. The staff was incredible! From the check-in process to being discharged, they made me feel safe and comfortable.

My experience with Dr. Liu was wonderful. This was my second endo surgery (longer and more extensive than the first one). I was at a point with pain where I was experiencing light headness and shortness of breath due to the excruciating pain. I did extensive research and her name always came up. I decided to meet her and after our first consultation I knew she was the surgeon for me. She is incredibly compassionate, validating, and caring. I never felt rushed throughout the whole process. Dr. Liu checked on me and answered all my questions for several days if not weeks after my surgery. I felt at peace having her by my side. I had no complications, and after 3 or so weeks I was feeling like myself! Thank you, Dr. Liu! p.s. her whole team is awesome too! Very professional and caring.

Regarding finances, although she is out of network, her team handles everything! this was very important to me because other surgeon’s offices have you pay upfront and then you are responsible to submit the claims for reimbursement to the insurance company. I didn’t want to deal with an insurance company as I was recovering. This is SO important and helpful in the recovery process! Really though. She also has a payment plan which is completely reasonable and worth it. Her whole team makes the process so easy so that you only have to focus on your recovery.

Dr. Lora Liu is the most trusted Doctor I have been to. She listened thoroughly to all of my symptoms and gave me options for treatment. We decided that a laparoscopic surgery was the best option and I was scheduled four days later. I never had to worry about scheduling, insurance or any logistics as it was all professionally taken care of for me. While in the hospital I had several different nurses say that I was in the best hands and they were right!! Dr. Liu was highly compassionate and spoke to me like a friend, not a patient. We still communicate about post-op and she is very attentive. I am so glad to have found Dr. Liu. Look no further, she is the best choice.

Dr. Liu was extremely thorough and precise with my excision. I was pleased to read the extensive surgical report that truly seemed like she took out every possible suspicious tissue. I had 2 consults with Dr. Liu prior to my surgery. The first one was in office and she was very warm and understanding, which is rare to have in a surgeon. The second one was virtual and a pre-op appointment. Throughout the consults, Dr. Liu was flexible and easy to work with, and opted to increase the number of surgeons present to increase my positive outcomes. Dr. Liu’s finance and scheduling team is very flexible and responsive. I was able to get in for surgery quickly as my symptoms were increasing.

I had 3 surgeons present: Dr. Liu, a urologist, and a OBGYN who worked together to excise tissue as a team. Dr. Liu excises vs ablates tissue which is KEY to a successful endo treatment. She also uses the DaVinci robot, which after doing my own researcher, is a cutting edge technology and not used by every endo excision specialist.

Pain and recovery post surgery was not terrible, and Dr. Liu called me every day to check in on how I was doing. She was also available for questions via email, which made me feel great. Once again, rare to have in a surgeon.

I was expecting more communication about what tissue was removed immediately after the procedure and a thorough walk through of the pathology and surgical report – neither of those happened, thus the 4 star review.

I’d definitely see Dr. Liu again, but hope I don’t have to 🙂

Dr. Liu is a phenomenal and overall empathetic surgeon. From my initial consult with her , I felt empowered and like my voice was being heard. She truly validates and tries her best to help endo warriors feel better. Before my surgery , I was having excruciating left sided pelvic pain and having bowel movements literally use to bring me to tears. 3 months post op I can say I am feeling so much better and no longer dealing with the same problems. Endometriosis is a crippling disease but doctors like Lora Liu restore hope in the hearts of patients like myself that have been experiencing debilitating pain for years! Thank you so much Dr. Liu!

Dr. Liu was patient, gentle, and kind throughout the entire process – from assessing my x-rays, to coming to the decision to get surgery, to the day of the surgery itself, and beyond. She was thoughtful in her responses to my many many questions, and was incredibly thorough in her explanations. My surgery went off without a hitch and with her support, my recovery has been great.

I highly recommend Dr. Liu! I sought her out an unpleasant experience with another endo specialist. Over the years, I’ve grown to be very selective with my medical team. As a Black, queer, femme I have experienced a lot of unselecting experiences in the medical world which has led me to be very attuned to how I am being treated. Dr. Liu instantly made me feel comfortable. She took time to listen to me and not pressure me to make a decision. She is kind, great bedside manners, and takes time to explain things in detail. She is also accessible when needed. As a result of my initial experience with Dr. Liu, I decided to proceed with surgery. I was diagnosed with a very (extremely) rare form of endo which Dr. Liu has not dealt with before. But, my experience with her helped me feel confident in her care. The surgery went smoothly and her whole surgical staff were kind. Dr. Liu also followed up with me regularly after the surgery. I’m now 2 months post surgery and I feel great. I cannot not stress how thankful I am for Dr. Liu’s care and expertise. She will not disappoint!

had a terrific visit with Dr. Liu. She took her time and listened. She is a kind, caring and very knowledgeable about my very difficult case.

Dr. Liu is the best ever. If you need to see a doctor, you need to see Dr. Liu. She is knowledgeable, she is a gifted surgeon, and her office runs flawlessly. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Liu and her team. I had Endometriosis excision surgery with Dr. Liu in September. She called me each day after surgery to see how I was doing and answer any questions I had. I have never experienced the level of care Dr. Liu offers. She is amazing.

I couldn’t possibly put into words how grateful I am for the treatment and care I received from Dr. Liu. I’ve suffered from chronic pelvic pain and painful periods for almost 10 years. I’ve seen more doctors for it than I can count, all of which completely shoved my pain aside and provided no answers and no help. When I made my first appointment with Dr. Liu, I was incredibly anxious to meet with yet another doctor thinking it would be just like all the times before. However, for the first time in my long journey, I was immediately met with compassion and understanding. She listened to every concern and symptom I had. It was very clear how much she cared about my situation and wanted to get to the bottom of things. I had never felt so validated in my life. She carefully explained all my options to me. We decided pretty quickly that surgery was what comes next. She was very thorough and answered all my questions, I never felt rushed. I felt like I could have sat there asking questions for hours if I needed to. Between that appointment and the surgery itself, I also dealt with her whole team who were just as wonderful. By experience up until the surgery itself is enough to give 5 stars. But I am now 6 months post op and I have never felt better. Prior to the surgery, it had gotten to a point where I was in horrible pain every second of every day. Now, I only have a few pain days a month and compared to what it used to be, it feels like nothing. Dr. Liu completely changed my life and I cannot fathom into words how thankful I am for her and her team. I would give a million stars if I could. She is an incredible doctor and person.

It’s so hard to find doctors that understand what you’re going through and actually take the time out to help and figure it out. Dr. Liu is so caring and sincere, I had the best surgery experience with her and her team. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my endometriosis care. She made me feel comfortable through everything and was there for all my questions and how to manage my symptoms. Dr. Liu is extremely knowledgeable in Endometriosis and is the best to go to for pelvic pain. I feel a lot better after surgery, and she is so sweet to check up and make sure everything’s okay. Don’t waste your time going through tons and tons of doctors and not getting the right help. Dr. Liu is the best out there !!

Dr. Lora Liu is an exceptional individual. She is what every medical professional should strive to be. Dr. Liu is one of the best doctors I have ever had. I have a terrible history of medical trauma, but she singlehandedly restored my trust in health care. Dr. Liu validated my pain. I was dismissed by so many doctors before meeting Dr. Liu. I had been struggling with debilitating pelvic pain for years. Other doctors didn’t take my suffering seriously. They only offered me Advil and birth control pills. Dr. Liu actually listens to her patients. I felt comfortable when I walked into her office. She made me feel safe. She made me feel in control of my treatment. I’ll never forget her saying, “you’re the boss” at my pre-op appointment. She’s absolutely right. It‘s your body. Don’t settle for just any doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Liu to anyone looking for an endometriosis specialist. She performs endometriosis excision, that is the gold standard of treatment. I do my research. I found Dr. Liu on an endometriosis educational Facebook group/website named Nancy’s Nook. Nancy’s Nook works with ICareBetter which is a list of doctors that have been thoroughly screened. This was my first really major surgery. I had endometriosis excision, ovarian cystectomy, total hysterectomy, salpingectomy, an appendectomy, etc. It was performed laparoscopically/vaginally/robotically (minimally invasive surgery as opposed to open surgery). She approved me (a young nulliparous woman) getting a hysterectomy because she rightfully believed me when I said I don’t care about fertility. I have no interest in getting pregnant. I just want to be healthy. I’m so happy I don’t have to cope with the abnormal bleeding any longer. I have no regrets. I wish I could have had it done sooner but I’m pleased that it was Dr. Liu who did it. She acknowledged my medical trauma and provided trauma-informed care. She checked on me before my surgery and after my surgery at Jersey City Medical Center. She called me each day for several days after the surgery too. She always responded to any emails I sent her. She made me feel like I was her only client. She answers all of your questions. She doesn’t rush you out of the room like other doctors tend to do and she actually takes you on time for appointments because she knows that your time matters as much as her time does. She eased the worries of my mom, my caregiver. She genuinely cares about her patients. I am now about 7 weeks post-op and am feeling a lot better. I’m able to go to the bathroom normally! Prior to surgery I was experiencing severe fecal impaction. So the surgery was very successful in treating the disease. As an added bonus, she works with an excellent urological surgeon, Dr. Yaniv Larish. This was super beneficial to me because one of my symptoms was bladder pain. I received her operative report, his operative report, and the pathology report confirming my endometriosis diagnosis as soon as it was available in my patient portal. Dr. Liu wasn’t covered by my insurance, but she was completely worth it. And there is a payment plan option. Her team at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine still checked with my insurance though and made sure that the hospital and anesthesiologist were in network. The surgical coordinator scheduled a date for my surgery ASAP. Invest in your health. Your health is the most important part of your life. Dr. Liu is a highly skilled gynecological surgeon. I am forever grateful for her. I would definitely give her more than 5 stars if I could. The best decision I ever made was choosing to have my procedure with Dr. Liu. She saved my life.

Dr. Liu is truly one of a kind! She is an attentive, caring, highly knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate doctor. I have suffered with endometriosis for 25 years and was losing all hope of having a quality of life. From the moment I met Dr. Liu at my initial consultation, I knew I was in the best hands. She is extremely thorough, answered all of my questions, and eased all of my fears leading up to the day of my surgery. The morning of my surgery, Dr. Liu came to check on me and after surgery she was always there for me as well. She called me every morning for several days after surgery to see how I was and was always a great source of comfort. I am now six weeks post op and am feeling so much better already! She is an excellent surgeon! My little one even asked me to give Dr. Liu a sticker and tell her she did a “Good job!” at my post op appointment! My family and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Liu for all of her care and support. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an endometriosis specialist.

Dr. Liu validated my experiences after years of pain and a prior surgery that was ineffective in completely removing my endometriosis! The recovery of surgery has been incredible and my pain has significantly reduced from about an 8/10 to a 2-3/10! As someone who felt ignored by an arsenal of doctors and gynaecologists since the age of 12, meeting Dr. Liu has been life changing. I am so so incredibly grateful and would recommend her services and Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine to anyone struggling with pelvic pain!

Dr. Liu is one of the best doctors I have ever had the experience of meeting and receiving treatment/surgery from. She is knowledgable, sincere, genuine, and determined to help people get the relief they need. Her team took care of me with respect and compassion. When I went in for surgery I was not scared and was laughing with the team. They made me feel so comfortable and the surgery was smooth. The surgery was also VERY successful in giving me relief. I know endometriosis is a long term diagnosis, but Dr. Liu makes me feel confident knowing I’m in good hands and I won’t be abandoned. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! 10/10

Dr Liu is everything you could want in a surgeon – extremely knowledgeable, skilled, but also empathetic, kind, and really cares about her patients. This was my second surgery to remove stage 4 endometriosis, and Dr Liu patiently sat through my questions, assuaged my fears, called me daily for the first few days after surgery, and continued to check up via email. She was quick to respond to emails, even on the weekend. I would highly recommend Dr Liu to everyone who is suffering from endometriosis or other gynecological pain.

Hands down the absolute best pelvic specialists around. Dr Liu and Dr Howell are angels on earth. I didn’t think I could live without being in pain every single day, and because of them I am! They are so incredibly knowledgeable and personable. You will not regret taking the time to see them.

Had my surgery 6 weeks ago with Dr. Liu and had such a positive experience. I had a very complex case of endo that could have potentially damaged one of my kidneys. Her and my urologist, Dr. Larish, have both been amazing. Performed a very difficult excision surgery on me and completely resolved my kidney issues. I had a consult with another big named excision specialist in the city and I am SO GLAD I waited for Dr. Liu. She answered all of my MANY questions and always made herself available after my surgery. She is very thorough and gave me all my options before surgery. She called to check on me daily after my surgery and that meant a lot. All around great surgeon.

Dr. Liu is by far the most exceptional medical professional I’ve ever encountered as both a patient and being a health care provider myself. Dr. Liu performed my extensive 5 hour surgery for stage IV endometriosis which had deeply infiltrated my pelvic cavity and reproductive organs. After a 15 year journey to finally receive a diagnosis and the gold standard of treatment (deep excision laparoscopic surgery), Dr. Liu became the shinning light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel to finally feeling relief from chronic pain and debilitating fatigue. It was an emergency room visit this February 2021 that resulted in finally receiving the diagnostic imaging that demonstrated the extent of damage my endometriosis had caused. After years of frustrating gynecologist appointments when ultrasound testing and or other scans were denied to me despite complaints of 10/10 pain for a week with my period and ongoing symptoms of fatigue, bloating, food intolerances, and chronic lower back pain from age 15 to now being 31 years old. There wasn’t a single doctor that offered a possible diagnosis or solution to my pain other than birth control pills. When I finally received the diagnosis of endometriosis it was several months of research to find the best treatment options. After reading extensively I knew surgery would be my best option to achieve some relief and possibly an end to my chronic pain. Of most importance was being able to start a family as endometriosis is a leading cause of infertility. I met with the best surgeons that specialize in deep excision surgery in New York, most of which were male, until I finally stepped into Dr. Liu’s office and felt not only understood but in the most capable hands. Dr. Liu set aside a great length of time to explain the entire surgery to my husband and I and then answered my list of about 20-30 questions without rushing. What impressed me the most is her continual discussion of my quality of life and how she could best help me achieve my health goals. For the first time, I felt heard and understood as a patient with a chronic illness. Dr. Liu’s office helped me schedule a surgical date right away and assisted me with signing up for a support group for other pre-operative patients with endometriosis. It was so helpful to have a supportive counselor to help me discover coping strategies. Surgery day went just as Dr. Liu had described and I was able to go home on the same day. Recovery was completely manageable despite the anticipated pain and bloating associated with abdominal surgery. Dr. Liu called for several days after surgery to make sure I was doing well. She responded to emails with questions and concerns in an extremely timely manner, reassuring me even further that she is a healthcare hero, being not only a surgeon but a safeguard of her patients health and quality of life after surgery. I’m now 8 weeks post operative and have finally be able to return to exercising after so many years of having to come home and nap after work from sheer fatigue and exhaustion of dealing with debilitating pain. I’ve even noticed a significant reduction in pelvic pain with my period . Where as in the past I might have needed pain medication every 4 hours for 4-5 days to be able to get out of bed and function I have only need 1-2 Tylenol just for the first day of my period and then no cramps for the remainder of the week. That has given me so much relief that not only was the surgery a success on the day of with no complications but that I’m now disease free and able to have a chance at a normal life. Dr. Liu has changed my life in more ways then she will ever know. I would travel across the world to come and have deep excision laparoscopic surgery for my endometriosis with Dr. Liu. If you’re considering surgery for endometriosis please contact her office at Pelvic Medicine Rehabilitation, you will be in the most capable surgical hands with the most compassionate hearted individual. Dr. Liu is truly exceptional.

Dr. Liu was very understanding and patient as I described my issues. Very thorough in explaining all possible scenarios and a great listener. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who is having issues with Endo.

I am so grateful to Dr. Liu and her team for the care they provide not only to me but my family. Dr. Liu is the best, she is knowledgeable, patient and very empathic to her patients. My family and I are truly thankful not only for her grate work as a surgeon but care she provides to cope after surgery.

Dr. Liu is the best of the best. I went to Dr. Liu after an unsuccessful surgery with another surgeon just 7 months before. During our 1st appointment, Dr. Liu listened intently, took a thorough history, did an ultrasound, and ordered an MRI immediately. It was the first time I felt heard. Her surgical coordinator, Julie, was fantastic in setting up my surgery. Julie organized and scheduled the surgery, pre-op tests, insurance, etc. which made preparing for the surgery less stressful. A few days before the surgery, I saw Dr. Liu again to go over the plan and discuss any other questions. After the surgery, Dr. Liu checked up on me 3 times while I was in the recovery room. She then followed up every day for the next few days to see how I was doing. We also touched base weekly in the following weeks because I was still feeling some pain. She gave me an ultrasound again to make sure everything was ok, and guided me on what to do next. Seeing Dr. Liu was a game changer for me. Not only did she understand the complexities of my condition, she helped me manage after healing from surgery so I never felt alone or dropped when something unexpected came up. I felt really cared for. I’ve never met a doctor so thorough and determined to help me succeed. Life improved drastically after the surgery – it was like night and day. I’m forever grateful to Dr. Liu. She’s the real deal and if you decide to go with her you’ll experience kindness and care unlike any other.

I found Dr. Liu on Nancy’s Nook after reading sparkling reviews by many women who have laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. Dr. Liu is so kind and thorough. She spent a ton of time answering all my questions during my consult, pre-operatively, and post-operatively. She called for about 4 days in a row after my procedure and was always available via text message or email! I healed very well otherwise and haven’t had any symptoms thus far!

I am so pleased with the exceptional level of care that I received from Dr. Liu. She was always receptive to my many questions, whether through email, by phone, or in person appointments, and she answered everything with patience, thoughtfulness, and empathy. I was very hesitant to have excision surgery, but I’m glad that I found Dr. Liu because I felt that she truly cares about helping her patients have a better quality of life. I definitely improved after going through with surgery!

Dr Liu saved my life. She was the first doctor to believe that the ablation surgery messed me up. I am still healing because any major surgery takes a year to heal fully. She cleaned me out and new how to identify the different colors of endometriosis. I am so grateful to have been able to travel to get surgery from her. She was there to refer me to a pain clinic afterwards.

I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Liu’s, kindness, care and expertise. I was referred to her after 16 years of misdiagnosed/undiagnosed symptoms, and her genuine concern and compassion were evident immediately. She took her time to answer questions and explain anything needed and displayed the best bedside manner of any medical professional I have ever met. She called the first few days after surgery to check in, and is always responsive on the patient portal. I am now 6 weeks post surgery and feeling great. I cannot recommend her enough, I truly believe Dr. Liu changed my life!

I am a young woman who has searched high and low for a doctor who listened to my issues and took me seriously. I found that in Dr.Liu. She is absolutely incredible. She performed a complex excision surgery on me for my endometriosis and was so caring and accommodating before and after the surgery. She made sure I felt in control of my treatment and made me feel confident that she had my back. She is kind, knowledgeable and has the best bed side manner. This was my first surgery ever and it could not have gone smoother. No question was too big or small for her and she made me feel like I was her only client. She is what all surgeons and doctors should aspire to be.

100 % would recommend. I had Dr. Liu as my surgeon in April 2021. This was the best decision I’ve made for my Endometriosis treatment. She was professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. I would highly recommend her if you are suffering in pain like I was. Before surgery, I had daily pain with my endometriosis. After surgery, I have virtually no pain and it’s only been eight weeks! This is a life changing surgery and it’s worth it. Thank you again,
Dr. Liu.

I came to Dr. Liu as an 18 year old who had been suffering in pain for almost 6 years. I was always nauseous, i had terrible body / joint pains, i was always so insanely bloated, and none of my doctors would listen to me. Most told me i was just an anxious kid and that there was nothing wrong and all my tests were normal. My gynocologist put me on birth control pills at 14 and i took them for 4 years, even with this i still had unbearable periods and all of my symptoms. I talked to a new gynocologist who recommended Dr. Liu! From day one she listened to me with an open mind and validated my pain. We booked surgery as soon as possible and discovered that even though i am very young i had endometriosis everywhere! I had my appendix removed and i had endometriosis removed from my bladder, uterus, rectum, lower intestines, pelvic wall, stomach, as well as cysts on my fallopian tubes and left ovary. After surgery i’ve seen such a difference, my periods are manageable, i don’t have joint pain, my nausea has decreased, and my bloating is normal! She is kind, open minded, and willing to fight for her patients. She is also one of the VERY few surgeons who will REMOVE the endometriosis NOT cauterize it! 10/10 would recommend no questions asked!

Dr. Liu has definitely made a difference in my life. Endometriosis affected me in many ways that I used to feel helpless and limited to what I could do. This disease had control over me that I had to plan my life around it.

It wasn’t easy deciding to go for surgery but after speaking to Dr. Liu, I felt that I could entrust her with my surgery. She is very caring and passionate about her patients. While recovering from surgery, she was always there to promptly answer any of my concerns.

I had a complicated case and my surgery lasted about 4 hours but the surgery was a success. Dr. Liu and her team genuinely look after the well being of their patients. I feel very grateful that I found her. It has been almost two months since surgery and I haven’t experience the excruciating pain since then. I am so happy to have a life without pain.

Thank you Dr. Liu for your life changing work!

I had a consultation with Dr. Liu for my adenomyosis in February. She is one of the best doctors I’ve encountered. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly so compassionate towards her patients. I had a severe case of adenomyosis that all the doctors I’ve seen before Dr. Liu would recommend hysterectomy as the only treatment. They would not consider any other options even after I expressed my strong desire to preserve my uterus. During our consult, Dr. Liu spent time to discuss about my case and really listened to me. She is the only doctor who didn’t dismiss what I want out of a treatment. I booked my surgery with her right after our session. Fast forward to March, I had my first ever surgery in life with Dr. Liu to remove adenmyoma and fibroids that were causing me so much pain all these years. It was a complex surgery but it went well. My pain level reduced immediately afterwards. Moreover, I was deeply impressed by the impeccable care I received from Dr. Liu during this whole time. Not only did she answer all of my questions (and I had a lot of them) pre and post op, but she also checked in on me several days in a row after the surgery to make sure that I was doing okay. I am not sure how many other surgeons will do the same. I feel so much more like myself today without the constantly going on pain and anxiety that came with it. I am so grateful for having found Dr. Liu and being able to receive her care.

Dr. Liu is the BEST!!!! She made me feel so comfortable the first day I walked into her office. She contacts you continuously after surgery to ensure you are doing well. Hands down the BEST doctor I have ever had in my life. She is also 2hrs away from where I reside but totally worth the trip.

I am exactly one week post op and I can’t recommend Dr. Liu enough! I’ve battled with painful periods since I started menstruating at 11 years old. My pain was dismissed year after year. I was told “Just take birth control” and “Painful periods are normal, get used to it. Everyone else has to go through them too.” One OBGYN even alluded to the pain mostly being in my head. That same doctor also told me that he could do the surgery to see if I had endometriosis and if they found anything they would BURN IT OFF. If a doctor ever says that to you – run for the hills!!! Excision is the only way and Dr. Liu is an expert in excision surgery. She is so patient and willing to listen to any concerns you have no matter how big or small. The last couple months before the surgery really took the cake. I was spotting way before and way after my period. My last period not including the spotting was 11 days long. I was also in pain almost every single day of the month – especially on my period and when I was ovulating. Along with painful periods I’ve also had painful bowel movements, sensitivity to almost anything I ate, pain during intercourse, and frequent urination. When I had my consolation with Dr. Liu she did a transvaginal ultrasound on the spot! She found a 5cm Endometrioma on my right ovary with the possibility of another cyst. I couldn’t bare to have another month of pain every single day, so I talked with her lovely surgery coordinator Janisie and was able to get my surgery booked two weeks out! Dr. Liu performed the surgery with Dr. Larish who is a very skilled Urological Surgeon. This was my first major surgery so I was very nervous but excited to feel better. The whole staff at the Jersey City Medical Center made me feel safe and I knew everything was going to be okay. The discomfort from the surgery was nothing compared to the long years of pain and torment I went through with endometriosis. I was more sore than anything. After the surgery I was told I had a very difficult case. It was all over my bowels, bladder, rectum, etc – but they got it all. 🙂 After the surgery Dr. Liu called me for days after to check on me. I felt so taken care of and I hope that anybody reading this will go see her because she honestly changed my life.

Incredibly grateful to Dr. Lora Liu for all her attention, care and for performing my stage 4 endo excision surgery. She was the best decision I’ve ever made and her team at Pelvic Rehabilitation NYC are phenomenal as well. This was probably my first positive experience with a doctor/office as navigating endometriosis and other pelvic issues have caused a lot of frustration and diminished my trust in the medical community in the past. Dr. Liu turned that all around for me. At my first visit, before we even went to the examination table, she sat in her office and listened to my entire story for a long time before she even asked to examine me. That attentiveness and level of care is hard to find. She’s a gem, compassionate, knowledgeable and relatable and someone you want diagnosing you and performing your surgery. I went to see 4 other doctors before her, some big names in the endo field and I just felt in my gut she was the right option. I’m about 8 weeks post-op. I feel like a brand new person. I had a severe case and a long surgery. I was also very afraid of surgery/anesthesia and their office has a team of behavioral health therapists there if you need. I saw a therapist leading up to my surgery and if it weren’t for Kelsey at Pelvic Rehab, I probably wouldn’t have walked through the hospital doors because my fear was so strong. I can keep gushing on and on…. but, in my personal experience, this doctor and office has changed my life this year for the better. A big big thank you to Dr. Liu and her team

Had a great experience, including pre and post op. Very informative and patient person who takes her work seriously. Great practice as well!

After years of living in pain and not finding any solutions for my endometriosis doctor after doctor, I found Dr. Liu. She was the first doctor that listened to my needs and concerns and gave me hope. She said she could improve my quality of life which I didn’t know was possible. Her and her team are so caring and helpful, making the whole process of having surgery less daunting. Their care is beyond any care I have received from medical professionals and continues even after the surgery. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Dr. Liu is an amazing doctor, i had my first visit with her in december. She sat and talked with me and my mom and listened to all of our concerns. I’ve been dealing with endometriosis for 5 years, and have always been in pain. Dr.Liu completely changed my life after surgery and i’ve been pain free, without her i still would’ve been in a lot of pain! I’m so grateful we found her.

Dr. Liu is not only an excellent surgeon but also a true healer. After enduring years of pain, Dr. Liu was the first practitioner to truly listen to the details of my story and formulate a coherent strategy. I’m happy to report that pain is no longer a part of my life. If you are in this journey, you know that having a doctor that truly listens and believes in your story is priceless. Dr. Liu will investigate and explore different approaches with compassion and without sugar-coating or overpromising. It is truly a pleasure to recommend her.

After 13 years of pain and diagnosis of “likely endometriosis,” Dr. Liu was the first doctor I truly felt heard my concerns and my pain. She is compassionate and caring and called for several days post surgery to check in. My experience with her was second to none, could not recommend her enough — if you need an Endometriosis surgeon who understands the disease and wants to help you treat it – look no further than Dr. Liu!

Dr. Liu performed an extremely complex surgery on me in December of 2020. She immediately listened to my issues and made me feel validated. Her staff was able to fit me in for surgery 2 weeks after our initial meeting. I had been suffering for 4 years with chronic pelvic issues from a previous surgery by another surgeon and no other doctor was willing to take action based upon me verbalizing that I felt sick all the time since every scan came back normal. During laparoscopic surgery she found that multiple organs were displaced and/or restricted due to scar tissue which would not have been visible on an MRI. I am forever grateful to her for the quality of life given back to me by her skilled hands. After the surgery Dr.Liu followed up with me every day for nearly 2 weeks and called at the 2 month post op point to see how I was feeling. She is incredible at what she does and I consistently recommend her to anybody I come across.

I am 38 years old and I am diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis. I had my first surgey in Colombia in 2014 and my second one with Dr Liu in January 2021. It took me a while to find a surgeon in NY and I am so glad I found Dr Liu. The moment I met her I knew I was in great hands. She is so welcoming, caring, understanding, patient and professional. She answered every question I had, responded to my emails very quickly and she made me feel safe from the very beginning. Having endometriosis is very debilitating and having a Doctor that makes you feel understood and taken care of, is essential because the process is tough and many people don;t understand the pain that women have to go through, not only physically but also emotionally. I had a lot of stuff going on and she brought together a great team, that greeted me before going to surgey and made me feel that they were going to take care of me, and they surely did. After my surgery, Dr Liu called me every single day and she was always available. Its been two months since I had my surgery and she is still following up. I know I was and I still am in the best hands. I highly recommend Dr Liu and her team. I feel very grateful for them!

I had laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis diagnosis/excision on January 15, 2021 with Dr. Liu. I am so glad I found and chose Dr. Liu to perform my surgery. She is caring, thorough, and diligent. I had suspected endometriosis for almost 10 years — nothing showed up on ultrasounds or MRIs, which is common. After trying several things, my doctors and I decided I should try surgery. Luckily by that point I had followed enough endometriosis communities to know how important it is to have the surgery done by an endo specialist. I put my faith in Dr. Liu because she practices at NY Pelvic Rehabilitation Center (which I love), and that she focuses on exclusively complex gynecological surgeries. During my surgery, she said she didn’t see anything that looked like endometriosis, but took specimens to send for biopsy. A few of them came back positive for endometriosis. Most OBGYNs would have likely said they didn’t see endo and that would be it. I would have spent the rest of my life being treated for chronic pain instead of for endometriosis. In that way, choosing Dr. Liu changed my life. Since my endo is not severe and I’m only a couple of months out, I haven’t yet experienced pain relief results from the surgery. However, I think it was more than worth it to finally know what I’m suffering from and start moving forward to explore more treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Liu!

Communicative, compassionate and clear., I was apprehensive after many disappointing experiences with OBGYN providers, however my fears were immediately alleviated. Dr. Liu was receptive, nurturing, confident and invested. I would send all of my friends in female born bodies her way! I’m very hopeful about finding relief from chronic endometriosis associated pain under her excellent care.

Everyone at PRM has been wonderful! They’ve answered my (many) questions with patience and thoroughness. After over two decades of dealing with the symptoms of endometriosis, Dr. Liu listened, guided me, and performed the excision surgery that finally gave me some answers, confirming my diagnosis, and taking all the affected tissue out of me. The team at PRM provided comprehensive documentation of what I should do to prepare for surgery and how to take care of myself and minimize pain afterwards. Dr. Liu and her team have also been incredibly supportive and responsive as I’ve been recovering.

Dr. Liu has made a tremendous impact in my life. I had struggled with heavy periods, passing out, and cramping since I was in high school. After two general surgeries in 2017 where the surgeon saw endometriosis but was not able to do anything with it, my pain worsened and became every day. I had seem multiple gynecologists and a reproductive specialist, trying IUDs, birth controls, and Orilissa. I suffered terrible GI issues as well, and the cause was deemed anxiety, misdiagnosed as Crohn’s. I found PRM in January 2020, and my life has improved drastically. The medication, injections, and pelvic PT did improve my life but I ended up with daily worsening pain again. I came to Dr. Liu to see if there was any other option before surgery, and she said I had done the work but that would be her recommendation. I had my surgery 1/4/2021, and she was amazing. I had 24 lesions removed, over half were endometriosis, and she also separated my bowel which had been adhered to the pelvic wall and muscles. I am so grateful that she felt like surgery was a viable option, when others didn’t, and later to find out it was so necessary. My pain improved almost immediately, and I no longer suffer from daily pain, a month later. I have trouble trusting doctors with my history, but Dr. Liu was honest, listened to me, and put my concerns about further complications from surgery at ease. She followed up every day immediately after surgery, and then called me back when a month later I had a medical question. I cannot recommend her more if you suspect you might need a gynecological surgery.

After a long history of unexplained pelvic pain, frequent bloating, a lot of migraines, stomach issues, and long and painful periods, I am happy and grateful to have found Dr. Liu. With a very thorough examination, she diagnosed a significant amount of endometriosis and within weeks I had booked my surgery (her team is also quick and proactive). Before and after surgery, she was always available to answer the laundry list of questions I had about the surgery, symptoms, expectations, etc. She called me to check up on me every day after surgery and advised on things I could do to make the recovery a quick one.

5 months later, the symptoms are pretty much non-existent and migraines decreased by ~60-75%. The incisions from the surgery have faded a bit as well.

All in all, after a lot of research and reading horror stories of women not getting the best possible care, I think I made a great choice by going with Dr. Liu.

Dr. Lora Liu is on the ICareBetter Endometriosis Experts list and Nancy’s Nook surgeon list, which means both endometriosis excision experts and patients approve of her. I’m one-month post-op, and I’m going about life like a normal person.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease, but in my case, it progressed very fast. By the time I made an appointment with Dr. Liu, my pain had gotten so bad so quickly that I was bedridden. One day when it was still a month before my appointment with her, in great despair and excruciating pain, I sent her a message via the patient portal and attached my MRI report. She called me back! She listened carefully and told me that she recognized my condition’s seriousness based on my symptom description and test report and agreed to operate on me as soon as possible. A few days later, Dr. Liu’s surgical coordinator Julie called me to inform me of a possible surgery date. Julie told me about her own experience of fighting endometriosis, and it brought me hope. I’m deeply grateful to her too.

I finally met with Dr. Liu at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. She examined me and did an ultrasound herself. My husband later told me that watching her performing the ultrasound gave him a lot of confidence as her skill somehow became visible. Dr. Liu explained everything in great detail and told me about the urologist and general surgeon on the team. We had a plan.

When the day came, Dr. Liu came to talk to me before surgery and went over the procedure with me. Her presence provided a sense of calm I very much needed. My surgery was 5-hours long. Lesions were everywhere in my pelvis. She excised all of them and also looked up to make sure my other organs were normal. Reading the operative report and pathology report was like reading a thriller. I feel so lucky that I was in good hands!

Dr. Liu called me every day after the surgery for three days. She also sent me a list of GYNs who understand the disease to continue my care plan with them. Dr. Liu has an excellent bedside manner. She is a great listener and communicator. I was so moved when I realized that she remembered many details about my life, even my daughter’s exotic name and how to spell it. Her skill and compassion go above and beyond. She’s everything a doctor can be.

Dr Liu is a professional in what he does. He was really patient and understood the problem I was having, thus I definitively recommend anyone with Pelvic Pain to come to Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine.

My surgery with Dr. Liu was my third experience with surgery, and her skills and bedside manner was nothing short of amazing. I was confident every step of the way that I was getting the best care possible. She checked in every day for up to 3 weeks after my surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Liu, she really has given me a new lease on a pain-free life. Simply Amazing.

Dr. Liu is like no other doctor I have seen before. She is truly so compassionate and wants to help her patients. During my first visit with her she listened to all of my concerns and we developed a plan to go ahead with surgery for endometriosis. She answered all of my extensive questions and even gave me her email to follow up with her if I had more. I am now 2 days post op and I can absolutely tell that her surgery is going to change my life. She has also called to check in on me multiple times since surgery-unheard of!! She is truly something special.

Dr. Lora Liu is a lifesaver! I have cystic fibrosis and had trouble convincing other doctors that my abdominal pain with my period was separate from my usual CF abdominal pain. I saw Dr. V, another endo specialist, and he recommended against surgery (if you know endo, you know who I mean. I’ve heard good things about him, but he misdiagnosed me). Thankfully my doctor at Pelvic Rehab scheduled a second consult with Dr. Liu, who calmed my fears and performed excision surgery. I had stage 4 endometriosis deeply embedded in my abdomen. Without her, I’d still be in inexplicable pain. She called me on the phone every day for five days post-op, and was available immediately by email with questions. She really cares. I am so thankful for her. I wish all doctors had the listening skills and patient experience that she has.

I am very happy and grateful that I found Dr Liu. I had been searching for an Endometriosis Specialist for some time as my endo pain grew bigger even after a small surgery in 2017. Dr. Liu was more knowledgeable than any other doctor I had seen for this condition including my OBGYN and emergency rooms doctors. She made me feel confident that she understood my pain and discussed my treatment options with me. I ended up needing surgery to remove a palpable mass in my lower abdomen and she did a laparoscopy to search for and remove more endo.
It’s been two months after surgery and I feel so much better. For the first two weeks she kept calling to check on my progress. The 3 incisions she made are relatively small and are healing nicely.

So grateful to Dr. Liu and the staff at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. My 16 year old daughter, suffered with severe pelvic pain for almost 4 years. We had seen multiple doctors that just didn’t take her pain seriously. We heard things like, “Yeah, it might be Endometriosis, but there’s nothing that can be done.”
Not willing to accept this,I was determined to educate myself and find the right doctor to help us. From the moment we walked into Pelvic Rehabilitation, I felt like we hit the lotto!
Dr Liu listened and was so caring and empathetic to my daughter’s case. Dr. Liu put this nervous mom right at ease and I knew we had finally found the right doctor for us. My daughter is 3 weeks post op and we now have the confirmation that not only did she have endo, but it was excised properly. Dr. Liu is extremely knowledgeable about this disease And I felt 150% confident in her as a surgeon. Dr. Liu was wonderful post op as well. Calling us several days after to check in. Something that is unheard of today. I am so grateful to her and the entire team at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. True heroes for anyone suffering with chronic pelvic pain and Endometriosis.

While Dr. Liu is relatively new to the field, she knows as much as any of the seasoned experts. I was in really dire shape and she and her staff were able to fit me in very promptly. She made me feel valued and heard, and also very safe. As someone with a very complex medical history, she was able to help me consider all the possibilities without making me feel alarmed or overwhelmed. She made me feel safe and comforted on the day of surgery and did a great job of communicating to my family. She also communicated with as many of my other providers as I asked her to both before and after my surgery, a quality I find rare but crucial when you have a complex medical case and large medical team. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone considering or seeking her care.

Professional, inviting, knowledgable., Dr. Liu is relatively new to the field, but knows as much as any of the seasoned experts. In total she did 22 small excisions during surgery and 18 came back positive for endometriosis. It’s been two months after surgery and I feel so much better. For the first two weeks she kept calling to check on my progress. The 3 incisions she made are relatively small and are healing nicely. I am happy she decided to get remove the mass on my lower abdomen through my C-section incision (is one less scar). Will definitely recommend Dr Liu.

I could not recommend this doctor and this office more., From beginning to the end, Dr Liu and her entire staff took time to thoroughly address my every concern. She along with her surgery partners were friendly, caring & kind. I trusted they had my very best interest at heart. They took such personal care of me- I could not have asked for more. Dr. Liu is such an expert in this field, but also caring and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Feel so lucky to have found them at this difficult time.
