To be clear, chronic pain is a real problem with real physical causes – not something that is “just in your head.” However, your experience of pain is greatly affected by the interplay between your body and your brain. Our practice is unique in offering Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to provide patients with effective strategies for coping with chronic pain. MBCT is an evidence-based approach which can be helpful in placing pain in a healthier context and reducing stress responses which exacerbate pain. Our goal is to empower patients to break the neural habits that can contribute to long-lasting pelvic pain and dysfunction. There are options for in-person or online telehealth counseling sessions available to individuals as well as to couples. Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine also offers chronic pain workshops, including our Retrain Your Pelvic Pain series, and support groups for both women and men with pelvic pain conditions.
Travel and location are a big part of the care process. We’re here where you need us.
