Practice Coordinator job responsibilities include:

  • Greet visitors and vendors; oversee patient flow
  • Check and verify data on forms, records, reports & correspondence; maintain department records
  • Schedule all procedure and follow-up appointments, prepare radiologic forms and any additional consults requested by the provider
  • Ensure proper pre-authorizations are obtained; facilitate all peer-to-peer requests between appropriate physicians and insurance company
  • Prepare and discuss financial plans with each patient for full transparency of Out of Network Benefits and Fees
  • Handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity, and within the HIPAA Laws
  • Assign and delegate work; establish and implement new procedures to streamline office efficiency; coordinate staff schedules
  • Train new staff and routinely updates current staff on changes to policies and procedures
  • Maintain a quiet and peaceful environment that promotes healing
  • Provide coverage for all sites of operations as needed


Practice Coordinator required skills & qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of EHR and Practice Management Software Systems
  • 3+ years of experience in the medical field that included leadership responsibilities
  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical/billing and/or legal terminology
  • Knowledge of insurance billing processes; experience with medical pre-authorizations
  • Exceptional customer service background; administrative and clerical ability
  • Excellent communication skills and supervisory ability
  • Critical thinker, innovative, friendly, compassionate
